In October 2012 Wikipedia UK and the Royal Society held an “Edit-a-thon” to help improve Wikipedia's coverage of women scientists.
The success of that event triggered the idea of creating a series of these editing marathons as part of the centenary celebrations of the Medical Research Council (MRC).
The aim of the MRC/Royal Society/Wikimedia is both to train new Wikipedia editors and build and improve entries for female scientists.
Starting today at the Royal Institude for Medical Research.
